Analog and Digital Color

DO NOW:      Understanding color theory is vital for designers because it affects how the audience feels and how good the design looks.

Mastering colors helps designers create visually appealing work, communicate effectively, and establish brand identity.

Colors also improve user experience by guiding attention and enhancing readability.

1.What are pixels?

Pixels are tiny dots that make up the images on screens. each pixel can show a different color, and together, they from the pictures you see

2. How is color viewed in computer monitors?

Computer monitors show color by mixing red, green, and blue light. By changing the brightness of these three colors, the monitor can create many different colors.

3. What is the additive color space?

Is how screens make colors mixing red, green, and blue light. When you mix these lights different amounts you get different colors

4.Describe which additive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black.

The additive color space is how screens make colors by mixing red, green, and blue light. By changing how much of each color is used, they can create lots of different colors 4.To make white inDesign, set red, green and blue to the highest number (255). To make black, set them all to the lowest number 0.

5. What is subtractive color space?

the subtractive color pace is used in printing and mixes cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to make colors

6. Describe which subtractive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black.

to make white, set cyan, magenta, yellow, and black all to 0%, To make black set cyan, magenta, and yellow 0% and black to 100%

7.What is color calibration?

color calibration makes sure colors look the same on different screens and printers.

8.How does the PMS (Pantone Matching System) color system ensure color fidelity?

he PMS uses specific codes for each color so everyone sees the same color, no matter where or how its printed

9.What is analog color (analog color is NOT THE SAME AS analogous color)?

Analog color is made with things like paint or film, using physical materials to show colors.

10.What is digital color?

Digital color is made with screens or cameras, using red, green, and blue light to show colors.
